Things happen when you least expect them. Flights get delayed, luggage gets lost, plans change, emergencies pop up. Travel insurance is the safety net you hope you never have to use, but you’ll be so thankful it’s there when you do.
We offer access to travel insurance to protect you and your investment in travel. The purchase of travel insurance is not required in order to purchase any other product or service offered.

* Processing times estimated above only include the time your application is at one of our passport agencies or centers. This DOES NOT include the time it takes in the mail to reach the processing center or return to your address. The total time to get your passport includes both processing + mailing times. It may take up to 2 weeks for your applications to arrive by mail at a passport agency or center, and up to 2 additional weeks for you to receive a completed passport in the mail after it is printed.
Consider the total time it will take to receive your passport when you are booking travel.
Are you a US citizen who wants to know if a visa is required for your trip?
Use Visa Quick Check to get the information you need for your destination. Simply select the country to which you are traveling to determine if a visa will be required for your trip. If a visa is required for travel to your destination country, select Get a Visa and you will be on your way to getting the documents you need. Where ‘No visa required’ is indicated, you must hold the following:
- A passport containing one blank visa page that is valid for 6 months past the date that you will enter the country
- Proof of sufficient funds
- Proof of onward or return flights
- All documents required for your next destination
While a travel visa may not be required, many countries have specific travel requirements beyond the bullet points provided above that you must meet in order to enter your destination country.

If you lose your passport while traveling abroad, you will have to replace the passport before returning to the United States.
Contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for assistance. Contact information for U.S. embassies and consulates is also available in our country information pages. Ask to speak to the Consular Section to report your passport lost or stolen.
You will have to appear in person at the U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a new passport. If you are scheduled to leave the foreign country soon, please provide consular staff with the details of your travel. We will make every effort to assist you quickly. If there is not enough time to get you a regular passport, the Consular Section may be able to give you a limited-validity emergency passport, which may be valid for up to one year.
If a loved one tells you their U.S. passport was lost or stolen overseas, you can call the Office of Overseas Citizens Services at 1-888-407-4747. They will be able to help you put your loved one in touch with the closest U.S. embassy or consulate.

WHAT IS ETIAS?
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. It is a completely electronic system that allows and keeps track of visitors from countries who do not need a visa to enter the Schengen Zone. In a way, it resembles the U.S Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), which serves a similar purpose.

Starting October 12, the European Union (EU) will begin rolling out the Entry/Exit System (EES) - a new digital border management system that replaces traditional passport stamping with secure biometric records.
This modernization aims to make travel across Europe’s borders faster, more accurate, and more transparent for millions of visitors. Each time a non-EU traveler enters or exits the Schengen Area, their data will be recorded electronically, helping reduce manual errors and improve border efficiency.
The EES marks the first step in the EU’s larger plan to digitize and streamline international travel, working hand-in-hand with the upcoming European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
